How long does it take hormones to settle down postpartum?

Hi,
Just wondering if anybody can share their experience of how long it took hormones to settle down after giving birth?
Currently 5 months postpartum (not breastfeeding) and my periods are completely out of line, pretty much have a period every two weeks which last nearly a week 😞 I am on the mini pill so could be down to that so I am debating coming off for a while.
Any experience shared would be greatly appreciated 😊

I'm only 7 weeks postpartum with my first so don't have much experience! But my health visitor said it takes 6 months for your hormones to calm down once you've had your baby!

@SK2970 have your periods settled down yet? I’ve had constant bleeding like you describe, a period every couple of weeks and spotting inbetween shortly after I started taking the mini pill. The doctor put me on the combined pill but it’s no better. I’m 3.5 months pp after a forceps twin birth. There’s no pain or smell or clots but I’m fed up of constantly having to wear a pad. I’ve just come off the pill to see if the bleeding settles down. I just wondered if it had resolved for you?
