Weight loss 13 weeks pp

Hi, I’m 13 weeks pp, I haven’t lost any weight since my initial birth loss and I am so down about it. I’ve restricted calories, walk every day and have started doing an exercise class 4 times a week. I took measurements last week and followed calories to a t and no weight change.
It’s really getting me down. I feel disgusting. My period hasn’t returned so I don’t know if when that returns will I start to lose.
Said to my GP last week and she was like you are only 12 weeks pp. I still feel irregardless of that I should have lost something since the initial loss. Just wondering when everyone else started to lose? Thanks so much

Your GP is right, it hasn't been very long and you've had an initial loss already. How much did you lose?

Why are you in such a rush to lose the weight? Without trying, I think it took me around 6-9months to lose the weight. I think breastfeeding helped.

The initial loss was about twelve pounds. I’m not in a rush but just feel I should have lost something since then. None of my clothes fit me which is very upsetting. I’m not expecting to bounce back but I was expecting to have lost something in three months.

I think it can be difficult to lose weight rapidly after an initial substantial lost (around 12lbs in your case). I'm sure the weight loss will kick in soon so don't be disheartened. In many cases, it's better to lose it slow and steady as the weight is more likely to stay off as opposed to losing it rapidly where you can quickly pile it back on.

There are some threads to do with postpartum weight loss on the weight liss thread. Maybe you can get some tips there.
