Hi all,
For those who have had a c section, when did you start exercising and do you have any recommendations - YouTube, etc? Did you notice your c section pooch getting smaller, or is this a myth and you're left with it forever?
Thanks!

I don't think I have an overhang, or if I do it's minor. I didn't do any actual exercise except the basics ie. walks with the dogs/pram. I think I went for my first walk when she was 9 days old which feels very late! But it was the height of summer and she only got her tongue tie cut around then, feeding had been so hard. Physically I didn't find recovery bad, I didn't go for massively long walks early on though, probably only 20-30 mins round the village.

I was going out for walks within 48 hours. I was cleared for exercise at my 6 week check. I went for a few runs but probably didn't properly exercise until DS was about four months when I started doing postnatal pilates. I don't think a have c section pooch but I don't know how much of that is due to exercise and how much is luck/the position of my scar.

Thanks. I'm 4 months post partum and still can't get into my pre pregnancy jeans... I have an overhang unfortunately and would like to work on it to minimise as much as possible. Didn't go in person to drs for my 6 week checkup due to covid so haven't been physically seen to be given the all clear to exercise..... But guessing it should be ok. I go for walks with the pushchair, but that's about it.

The key thing is to check for ab separation before you start doing any core work - you can do this yourself.

I couldn't get in my jeans by four months. Have you lost all of the weight? I breastfeed and gained 18kgs. Lost about 10kgs pretty quickly but the rest stayed there for ages then by about 6 months most of it had gone. It may look quite a bit better when you lose a little more weight.
