Hi guys really hoping someone can offer some real life reassurance/advice. I had a baby 11 days ago via emergency csec and 2 days ago I.got really itchy ankles and what I thought was heat rash on my breasts. Woke up yesterday covered in a rash much worse and spread all over my stomach and up.my neck. My csec tummy is pretty much on big inflammation there are no gaps between the dots. It's very itchy and warm. I've sent pics to the doc who said it.looks like polymorphic eruption of pregnancy, which is a postpartum PUPPP, sort of like hives. The maternity triage said that sounded right but no one has physically looked at it. Its really really not very nice..I don't feel ill but I look diseased at a time I was hoping to be feeling like I was looking a bit more like my normal self :-(
I understand itsbnot dangerous for baby whixh is amazing but does anyone know how long it's likely to last? Got antihistamine and steroid cream and aqueous cream but these treat the symptoms rather than cure anything.
It'snot showing any signs of improvement really getting me down.. any wise words?

Thanks guys:-(

Hello! Congrats on your your baby!

I have a 4 week old who was also born via emergency c section. I had hives in hospital that developed on my upper arm - the midwives didn’t know what it was and just gave me antihistamine. When I came home and stopped taking the co drydamol I was given as pain relief. May be worth looking at the less you are taking, if any as it could be a reaction to those? Sorry your having to deal with a rash on top of recovery and caring for your new edition! Hope you manage to find a solution soon! X

Sorry that’s meant to read When I came home and stopped taking the co drydamol I was given as pain relief the rash disappeared.

Sleep deprivation is absolutely a thing!
