I am 9 months pp and have recently been experiencing quite painful hip pain. It feel like a joint with no oil! If that makes sense 🤣 has anybody else experienced this? I wasn't sure if 9 months is to late to develop postpartum pelvic pain? Or if it's something else. It's worse after doing a lot of walking/standing etc

Hi

Yes I had SPD in my first pregnancy, that didn’t quite go away after the birth and then got worse!

Long story short, I learned I had what is called ‘Osteitis Pubis’ or inflammation of the pubic symphysis and associated pelvis pain.

I eventually cured mine after a long rehab program with the O.P Clinic: They run an online rehab course, it’s expensive but amazing

If you google osteitis pubis you can read up on it - as well as us postpartum ladies, many athletes and footballers get it too!

Also look for the ‘Osteitis pubis Sufferers’ group on Facebook to learn more

Hi there,

I saw a post on here where Plymouth University are looking for people with pelvic pain for a new research study; may be worth looking at:

Hi Gerdticker! So good that you’ve recovered. What is this rehab program you mentioned?

HotPenguin · 26/12/2021 21:20

Hi it sounds like it could be pelvic girdle pain (which used to be called SPD). Check out www.pelvicpartnership.org.uk for info on the condition and how to get it treated.

@TRUCHET

Hi Gerdticker! So good that you’ve recovered. What is this rehab program you mentioned?
Google ‘The OP Clinic’ - Jason the physio who runs it has some free videos on YouTube explaining some stuff, and on his website, to give you a flavour of what it’s about.

Just a heads up, it’s a very intense course and would only work if you are the kind of person that will out the work in. I think in the early weeks I was shoehorning gym exercises in at 6am and 11am in order to keep up with the program! But my god it really worked for me, it definitely changed my life and I am so grateful I found Jason!
Hope that helps x
