When does breast tenderness stop after weaning?

Hi folks,

I breastfed my 21-month-old until 9 days ago. We were down to 1 feed per day, and stopping was thankfully very easy. He’s put up much less of a fight than expected!

However, my breasts are still quite tender. I’m not engorged, but I feel a little bit on the full side. The nipples are quite sensitive to touch, not painful, just uncomfortable if my clothing rubs against them.

I’m assuming this is all normal (?), but any guesses as to when my breasts might go back to normal? Is there anything I can do to help along the process?

Thanks!
