10 week old drinking less sleeping more

Hey,

Should I be concerned that my 10 week old is drinking less and sleeping more? She seems content in herself when she wakes etc. She is still smiling happy on her playmate gurgling.

She usually drinks 6oz every 3-4 hours and wakes in the night. Shes now drinking 4oz wont take anymore and crys if I try and put the bottle in her mouth after winding at 4oz, also not waking in the night for a feed and sleeping 10 hours. This has been 3 days in a row. Is this normal for this age or should I be concerned?

(I know your not GPs I would just like to know if anyone else has had the same)

Thanks x

How much is she having in 24 hours? Do you know what weight she is?

They can vary amounts depending if they are having a growth spurt or not

It could be normal for her, certainly sleeping 10 hours at night isn't uncommon.

I would speak to your HV/GP and ask to have her weighed.

One of my large 90% centile newborns settled on the 25th centile for weight and is still very light for height as a teen!

If she is still pooping and peeing then I wouldn't worry, as you've already said she's quite happy in herself.
My DS doesn't drink as much and sleeps more when he's having a growth spurt. Your DD may be going through one herself? That would be my guess.
My DS also started sleeping through from around 9 weeks and I count my blessings that he still sleeps through and he's now 15 weeks and hoping he stays that way! 🤞
You're just one of the lucky ones when it comes
to your baby sleeping through! Enjoy the unbroken sleep! 👍🏻
