Healing after C Section

Just a query. I had my DS 3 months ago via emergency c section. I healed brilliantly, but it's been 3 months and my scar still aches and occasionally gives me some discomfort. I also tried to do a sit up the other week and that really hurt.
Is this normal given that it was 3 months ago I had my section?
My stomach muscles didn't separate completely, so I expected to be able to at least start some gentle exercises by now? I'm ready to get rid of my pregnancy weight now!

Had three. Very normal to still be aching now, even get twinges every now and then and last dc is nearly 18months. Exercise def possible now, but probably lay off the sit ups. Other core exercise like bridges, mountain climbers and planks are better at the moment.

Thank you @Drbrowns didn't realise you can still get twinges after that much time passing. Good to know for sure 👍🏻
I have a kettlebell at home, might start using that and knock the sit ups on the head for now

Would recommend getting your scar massaged. Start early as it breaks up scar tissue

Took me nine months to realise you can buy scar gel on Amazon. Already feeling better a couple of weeks of twice a day.

I had twinges like that for a year, they decreased as time went on. Second baby was a VBAC and the episiotomy scar is exactly the same!

BlenheimOrange · 26/12/2020 22:28

@LividLover what’s the scar gel please?

LividLover · 26/12/2020 22:34

I got this one cos it was on special offer but sure any with same sort of ingredients and a good review will do the same.
