Hi, has anyone taken mirtazapine before??
My doctor started me on it yesterday. Pretty much knocked me out straight away and feel very groggy this morning. Does this side effect last or will it fade as my body gets used to it??

Hello, I've been on it since March. The first week or so was a bit rubbish with grogginess, but you get used to it and those feelings go away.

In my case, I also gained an appetite for the very first time in my life for the first few months (and then a stone!) I've dropped it all and then some now, but that's one to watch out for.

I hope it helps you - are you also getting help in other ways too?

@zzizz I have a therapy session every week and that's helping. I'm glad to hear this feeling passes, feel like a zombie this morning lol.

I took it for over a year in varying doses. The grogginess and hunger don't last. Definitely got a better night's sleep taking it though. Was just what I needed at the time and wouldn't hesitate to go back on it should I need to. Hope you're feeling more yourself soon x
