Has anybody been referred to a NHS physio during covid? What was your wait time like?

I had my baby before I got my physio appointment. Actually still waiting. Referred at 14 weeks pregnant, now 14 weeks pp.

Given up and gone private - I need my hips to work.

Keep ringing the department. They can do telephone and leaflets.
You can then use the information on both to do your own research.
Search Jilly Bond, she's quite helpful and also Julie Kwong.

I agree keep ringing the hospital physio department - be pushy, let them know how much you’re struggling, sometimes it really helps!

But if you can possibly afford it, find a private womens’s health physio. Have a google to find one in your area

I think I paid in the region of £60 for my appointments in 2017, they were well worth it :)

@Gerdticker I am seriously contemplating going private as I don't want to wait and my problems get worse! How many sessions did you end up having?

4 sessions I think? Although the first session alone was amazingly helpful, just to be able to ask questions and actually understand what’s going on in there! That’s half the battle

All my NHS physio appts were a bit underwhelming, I did an online course with julie Baird, on insta as myfitfamilylife or our fit family life. She is French (only important as they take women’s post partum physical and pelvic recovery more seriously in France) . She has a lot of general good advice on her Instagram if you can’t or don’t want to pay. I really really wish I’d known she existed when I had a baby (baby is 5 now!)

I went private straight away which I am so grateful for after I heard of friends having phone physio sessions pre covid.
Look up mummy mot and find a practitioner. It really should be offered to all women as standard.

@Gerdticker I have just booked in to see a private physio so I'm really hoping this will help!

Thanks @ButwhereisMYcoffee I have just followed her on Insta so will have a look at some of her posts.

@Hollywhiskey yes the wait time for NHS seems to be even worse now during Covid. I was offered a phone call physio appointment 6 weeks pp but they never called and being in a newborn bubble I completely forgot about it! I have booked for a private physio now so really hoping it'll help.

Thanks all for your advice :)
