I have huuuuge anxiety about my PP checkup and exam!
I had an induced labour which I found traumatic and so painful and now I'm dreading and pretty terrified about my upcoming PP checkup! Also had an episiotomy for forceps delivery.
Is the examination as painful and invasive as the internals they do during inductions? I know it won't be the most pleasant experience but just want to know if it is as bad!

I didn’t have any internal exam for my 6 week checkup. They checked stitches visually but that was it. It was just questions apart from that and over very quickly.

They only look if you feel like you aren’t healing well or want them to. It’s not standard to check.

Also My stitches were really sore so I asked them to look with my second and I lay down, out my knees together and opened legs and she didn’t even touch she just looked, If that Helps

They didn’t look at mine either, it’s only if your having problems or not healing.

As pp have said they don't routinely look. If you're worried about healing it is worth asking. Also if you had a traumatic birth you may be able to mention and ask for counseling? I've had friends go back to talk through what happened with their maternity provider. They've found it helpful.
