I gave birth 8 weeks ago, vaginal birth and everything was straightforward, no issues. Ive been sent a letter for a smear test, is there any length of time i should wait? I know it only takes 2 minutes but im a bit apprehensive about it

I was told to wait 12 weeks. That was earlier this year

I had mine a few months after birth and was fine actually better than normal. I was also a bit worried but don't worry xx

Thanks, they've sent me 3 letters about it already! I think I'll book an appointment for the 12 week mark

It is 12 weeks to give the cervix cells time to go back to normal after having a baby pushing past them Smile

I was told to wait until 12 weeks after birth otherwise it can give false positive results!
