How long did it take for a return of your cycle after you stopped breastfeeding

Hi all Smile

I have a beautiful 10m old ds who I exclusively breastfed until he was 7m old.

It has been slightly over three months now and my period has not returned after I fully weaned him (am not on any hormonal contraception and pregnancy tests have been negative so far).

My concern is this delay might make it difficult to fall pregnant a second time.

I am seeing a doctor about this abs awaiting the results of a few tests.

In the meantime, I wanted to hear if any other mothers experienced a similar delay in the return of their cycles?

Thanks!

I shouldn't worry. It's perfectly normal for them to take a while to return and you can be fertile before they do speaks from experience

I didn’t stop feeding but mine came back about 19 months pp first baby and 14months pp second time.

I'm in the same boat, stopper bf at 6mo, baby now nearly 9mo and not yet returned. GP said it was completely normal and to start trying if we want but be aware it's unlikely to happen, but do a test if I feel nauseous etc just in case.
