C section would hurting?!

So I'm 6 weeks pp and my c section wound has started to really sting.

It's not infected, it's all closed up....but it stings like hell when I stand up, and it seems to be an internal wound that hurts.

I've been going on walks daily, and doing everything around the house (because, lockdown! So no help) and looking after the baby. Most of my walks have been 40 mins or so, but some have been closer to 2 hours.

Theres no bleeding/strange discharge.

Do I need to be concerned? Have I overdone it? I naively thought by 6 weeks it would be better....But errr......it still hurts like hell!

I think it takes a lot longer than 6 weeks to heal tbh.

It’s major abdominal surgery.

You should rest as much as possible.

I think you need to take some time to heal. Every c section is different and some take longer than others.

I think you’ve over done it. I’m 8 months pp and while I was feeling great and up and about within a couple of weeks it did take a while for the internal wound to heal

For me the 6 weeks was more that the external was nicely healed and internally was well on its way but even 4/5 months later if I did too much then I knew about it.

Personally I’d try and take a rest as much as possible

Your nerves are healing. Burning, stinging, itching, and pain are all totally normal when a surgical wound is healing.

I would gently say that you're overdoing it. You've had a big operation and it took me about six months to feel back to normal with no pain etc!

Ok thanks everyone! I think I can see an internal wound through the skin at the bottom of my tummy. I'm not sure, but theres a long raised line there, and it's that that's itching and stinging.

When I left the hospital I wasnt given any guidance on what I can do after a section and when, so I'm feeling a bit rubbish that it's still so sore 🙄

I've had 3 c-sections....you're meant to take is easy! I was told no hoovering, no driving and no heavy lifting for 6 weeks. It's stinging cause you've overdone it. Maybe take a couple paracetamol if it's really uncomfortable, then rest!
