Hi mum

So I’ve decided to set a local support group up on fb for mental health in new mums n pregnancy since going through postnatal depression myself. I wanna help new mums and hopefully when Covid goes, do like a weekly support group where you bring your babies and have a brew and stuff

Which one do you prefer for a name... can’t bloody decide!

PAPS - Pre and Postnatal Care
Beyond The Blues

Of those 2, I'd probably more likely investigate the PAPS option, as beyond the blues sounds a bit...wishy washy, airy fairy... especially with the word "journey".

BUT I know that that is exactly the kind of thing that will appeal to others!

I'm just more businesslike in my approach to these things. The same way I'd take my kids to "stay and play" whereas I'd probably avoid going to "ikkle bubba's dance and laugh", (or whatever...).

So I guess think about the demographic in your area, and what you think would appeal to those you already know who would benefit from the group. If they like journeys, go with the blues! Both sound good, just quite different, in my view :)

Excellent idea though. I'd kill for a proper support group right now :(

Also I think the "blues" bit, makes it sound like it's for people who have definitely got/ had PND. So people like me, who wouldn't necessarily class ourselves as having PND might avoid it. Whereas a general support group for ANY new parent that needs it would catch a wider group of struggling mums.

Paps makes me think of a smear

Thanks ! Appreciate the feedback and I completely agree.
Like you say, they may feel they have no symptoms to it and I want it to be open and more business like as I would like to maybe turn it into a charity one day.
Aw I hope there is something near you! Feel free to join mine when it's running if you wanted. Doors open
