Hey everyone!

So, I had an EMCS 5 weeks ago with a 1.5 litre blood loss....I'm starting to feel really down about how my body looks post birth. I'm back in my pregnancy clothes, but feeling really lethargic with the hormone shift, and can see ive put a bit of weight on because my tummy is bigger, and I can't get out for a walk because it is blowing a gale and proper torrential rain here.

I was given no advice from the hospital about what I can and cant do after a section 🙈 When I asked they said "just don't lift stuff"

Does anyone know when it might be safe to go on my exercise bike? I realllllly dont want to set my recovery back and go back to hospital, so I'm guessing not now! But when might I be able to start?

Hi
I also had an EMCS 6 months ago now and know exactly how you are feeling! I jumped back into exercising a little too quickly and then had to stop for a while due to pain. I spoke to the GP about it also who was quite useless and said it was fine to exercise but that it would probably hurt.. I feel I am just now able to exercise as normal and feel minimum pain (sometimes just a slight twinge).
Everybody’s recovery is different though so you may find it easier, but I would start off very gently, maybe yoga or Pilates? And stop if you feel pain, give yourself time to recover before starting back up again.
Like I said I know exactly how you feel but please try not to get down about your post baby body, it’s been through a lot! You will get there eventually, I feel like I am just now starting to see results and getting (slightly) back to normal, although still a long way off!
