I had a c section 5 and a half weeks ago and the bleeding wasn’t too heavy after the first couple of weeks. It pretty much stopped by 4 weeks (down to pink spotting) but at 4 and a half weeks I started with heavy bright red bleeding with clots and have had to start using maternity pads again. This has been the same for a week now. I’m also getting period like cramps which started a couple of days before. I’ve read that the first period after birth can be much heavier than usual so I’m not sure if this is what is happening? Is 4 and a half weeks too early for a first period (bottle feeding - stopped expressing 2 weeks ago)?
