Elevated platelets after c section

Hi everyone, I had blood tests ten weeks after having a section as my thyroid had been very low during pregnancy. The doctor also did a complete blood count and they rang me yesterday to say everything was fine, they said my platelets were slightly elevated but nothing to worry about, could be due to c section etc and I could do another blood test in eight weeks.

Ive looked online and am freaked out about the information online as it all talks about high platelets and cancer, but it also says recent surgery can cause it, but is ten weeks still recent? Has anyone else had this? And did they go back to normal?

Thanks

@FirstTimeMother88 thanks for the reply, oh I hope mine is the same. Was it long after your section you had your first bloods drawn?

Yes I had an infection during labour and they sent me home with antibiotics and I had repeat bloods 2 weeks later... they were very high so I kept getting them repeated every 4 weeks and they slowly came down to normal.
The GP told me it was down to the massive trauma that a c section can be on the body x

How long did it take for them to come down? X

About 6-8 weeks. How long have yours been elevated?
