Post partum catheter

I delivered via forceps on Sunday. It was very quick with 2 epidurals due to first not working. Had big bleed afterwards losing 2 litres and ended up with a 3rd epidural and a Bakri balloon after an hour of being internally pummeled. Catheter came out 24 hours later and I had no control over my bladder, it came out whenever it felt like it. I don't feel when I need a wee and can't stop it mid flow.

Had another catheter for 24 hours but it hasn't solved the problem and I'm now being sent home with one for 7 days.

I feel devastated quite frankly. Has anyone with this issue had a good outcome?

I have currently got this and struggling to find anyone with something similar. Did you resolve it?

Hi.

No personal experience here but I do have a bit of knowledge.

The bladder is a muscle and can get a bit lazy when it has had a cathater in & not had to do any work

The control should come back- try looking up bladder training - train your bladder to work again.

Big hug xx
