How long should I still be bleeding after vaginal birth? My baby is 8 weeks and it still has not stopped, still bright red fresh blood every day.
My GP surgery are not doing 6 week check up for mums.

My bleeding didnt stop until week 11 which the doctor was not concerned about.although it did mostly stop at week 4- then came back every week afger that for a few days extremely light bleeding. Then around week 10 a few says of heavier bright red bleeding

I bled for eight weeks, went to my GP who gave me some pills and it stopped. However that seems not to be an option for you. I didn't realise some GP surgeries are still not offering appointments as mine has been doing so, albeit reduced, for a while.

Have a telephone conversation with your GP, they may prescribe based on your symptoms.

I had to go to a&e for my bleeding as it was excessive 6 weeks postpartum, they told me to take ibuprofen to stop the bleeding

I bled for 12 weeks. It only stopped when I went on the pill.

Can you speak to your health visitor or at least ask for a doctors telephone consultation.
