Hi
I was wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions or advice.

My baby is 1 month old - she was born at 38 weeks and had a tricky start with tongue tie and pain in her stomach and adjusting to formula therefore had her tongue cut and put onto prescribed milk (nutrmigen). Things appeared to settle but now her bowel movements have slowed right down and she appears to be really struggling with pain in her tummy and passing stools. She hasn't passed a stool for almost 2 days and just vomited her bottle up -and her tummy is very bloated....I've tried warm baths, rubbing her tummy, cycling her legs, warm water on her bottom.....

What's your thoughts, suggestions and advice?? It's horrible seeing her pain and uncomfortable. :(

Hi Op, because she is a month old and you have tried quite a lot of the things I would suggest and they haven’t worked, I would probably contact the GP for advice.
It might be that this formula also doesn’t agree with her and as I presume they prescribed it thinking she may have an intolerance then a GP may be able to prescribe something else. They may even consider prescribing lactulose to help get things moving.

Thank you for replying!!!! Yes I think it may be the milk constipating her but may see if they can prescribe some lactulose! Thank you :)

You could try some boiled water in between feeds( obviously wait till it's cooled to give her it). She probably won't take much but apparently it helps babies who are on formula to go! My little one seems to strain/struggle sometimes and GP has just told me to try that today at the postnatal check. Hope you get sorted. Xx

Ah great - my HV did mention boiled water. She has been twice today now but will definitely get some more advice! Thank you x

Mine is on normal cow and gate, but she gets constipated too. I find a wee drop of cooled boiled water often helps, it is better if you give it when still slightly warm. I think about 0.5oz is supposed to be enough when they are really little.

Ah great I will try this today!!! Thank you!
