Looking for advice regarding a lump in my breast after stopping breastfeeding

Hi all, first post so bare with me!

I stopped breastfeeding 2 weeks ago and I have a large lump in my breast that I believe to be a blocked duct. I have tried all sorts of things to clear it. I've tried expressing, massaging it, having hot baths and showers, but nothing is reducing it and it's very sore. I am starting to worry it will become infected or become mastitis after reading some information online. Does anybody have any experience in this who could offer me some advice?

Many thanks in advance Smile

I experienced the same (but when my milk came in). Sounds like s blocked duct - I too didn't get anywhere with massage, heat, etc. It was a really solid, immovable lump and kept growing. The skin got red and warm and eventually became painful. I held off taking antibiotics as I never got a fever, which I thought always happened with mastitis, but it turns out it was and actually I left it so long before treatment that it turned into an abscess (which you don't want!). Antibiotics for two weeks cleared it up for me, but I'm still being monitored by the breast clinic. If I were you I'd request a phone appointment with your GP today to get a prescription for antibiotics to have on hand as it can get worse quickly. Hope it gets better soon
