Spinal hit nerve

Hi, I’m new to here. Was just wondering if anyone has had the same experience as me. In October I was given a spinal for a c section. They hit my nerve twice while trying to get the needle in which caused terrible shooting pain down into my bottom. They managed to get it in after moving it down my spine further but ever since, I’ve been suffering with lower back pain which is most painful during the night and I can sometimes find it hard to move and get out of bed due to the pain. Has anyone experienced this and if so what was the outcome from Gp or specialists? I’ve been sent to Physio who has given me exercises to do but I feel these have made it worse. I’m worried it’s going to get worse as it started as not being to bad but is getting worse over the months.

Yes, it took 7 attempts to get mine in, three or four hit the nerve and it was excruciating. Felt like my left leg was being ripped off.

I had lower back pain for quite some time (unsurprising if you’d seen the state of my back afterwards) but it gradually improved over the first 8-9 months. They told me that it was possible they’d chipped bone and that was aggravating things but there was nothing they could do for either nerve damage or any slight damage to the bone. Fortunately it resolved but keep raising it with the GP if you’re concerned.

Poor you. Hitting the nerve twice was enough for me, I was ready to give birth naturally as the pain was too much, but you had it worse as they hit your nerve more. My baby is 5 months now so I will see how the next month goes. I’m hoping it will get better. I had a c section 8 years ago due to a 3rd degree tear 10 years ago with my 1st born so was talked into having a c section due to the risk of tearing again but that c section went smoothly and had no pain during the spinal so it was a big shock when I got that pain during the spinal this time.

Honestly I think it it happens once or 10 times it’s horrific. I feel for you, it’s so horrible. If it’s getting worse I would keep going back. At the least see if they can prescribe something to help manage the pain.
