I've had a flick through the board and can't find any definitive answers.

I stopped expressing last Monday (20th Jan) and started bleeding on Friday (24th)I expected my periods to come back, but not that fast!!! Anyway.

It's now 8 days after, to begin with my bleed was quite thick and mucusy rather than just blood (I had the coil fitted on December 17th if that's relevant) it got more bloody and less thick around Tuesday so bleed day 4 and then all of a sudden today its gotten really heavy, and I've flooded out of a towel and all over my jeans in the space of 2 hours.

Is it normal that your first bleed pp suddenly gets heavier before it stops, and how long can I expect it to last, before baby I was a regular 29 day cycle with 3 bleed days.

Hopeful boost as I'm still bleeding.

So sorry you haven't had any replies. This does not sound normal @OhWellThatsJustGreat.

How are you now?

Assuming this is a first period? Not lochia? My first period lasted 15 days!! Was awful very painful and heavy and very stop starting! Also very annoying I honestly didn't think would ever end!! Had 11 days off then started my period again! Currently day 6 slot less heavy and less painful fingers crossed doesn't last as long!!

Hi, thank you both for replying, our is my first 'true' period since birth. I finally stopped bleeding on today by the looks of it (tmi alert but I've had towels on today just incase) and fingers crossed I don't start again as I have my 6 week coil check up tomorrow morning. I might mention that I had about 5/6 days off mucussy blood and then 4 days of what I would consider 'normal' followed by over a week of heavy heavy bleeding and see what the practice nurse says.

Thank you again.

I've been bleeding on and off for 3 weeks, it's been going from light to heavy and back again which is worrying as I never had anything like this after my first baby
