I had my baby by c section on December 13th. Still not had a period. Is this normal? I'm not sure how long it takes before they start again

That is very early days. I still haven’t had mine and my little one was born in September!

Thank you Rockinghorse2019. Been getting a lot of discharge the last few days, and last night and tonight was tinged with blood. Quite worried. Will mention to Dr at six week check

It's not uncommon for them not to return up to a year after the baby. My dd is 9 months and my periods returned when she was either 6 or 7 months. I think if you bf it can be closer to a year, I ff from 3 months.

Thank you darlingsweetpea. I'm combination feeding but she mostly has formula as I don't make enough to sustain her on just bf

I had to stop BF for medical reasons and got my first proper period when DD was 10 weeks old.

That said I bled lots for the first few weeks anyway! I also got the pinkish discharge - if it smells or you’re losing big clots then speak to your GP.

Hello! I’m glad I’ve seen this thread.
I had my LG by CS on 29/10 and I got my first v light period last month. However since yest it’s seems to have hit wih a vengeance!! It’s so heavy to the point I’m changing my pad every 30-60 mins and when I lay down in bed I leaked (tmi sorry!). Has anyone experienced this before? TIA

Sadiee88 · 20/01/2020 21:26

I had a period straight away, I thought it was normal? then another one around I guess 4 weeks later and it was so heavy it went through my jeans and I felt sick and faint, luckily i was at home.

LHMB · 20/01/2020 21:54

It doesn't smell but I feel like I have a urine infection so not sure if that can cause the bloody discharge

Thanks! @Sadiee88 that sounds similar to me...horrible isn’t it! I might try calling my doc today to ask their advice

Sadiee88 · 21/01/2020 08:56

@Unsureursula yep! Especially as I’d only been light for years prior. Sooooo squeamish! Rang my mum and I’m 41 lol x

notacooldad · 21/01/2020 09:01

It took 7 months before my periods came back with DS1. I can't remember with DS2.

LHMB · 21/01/2020 11:13

Thanks for replies. Getting more pinkish discharge today but no full on period or any of my usual signs it's coming like leg and stomach cramps, but got cystitis type symptoms on and off for the last week so maybe I have an infection
