I'm just over 7 weeks pp with my dd. It's my 3rd baby and I've had pn depression after all of them to varying degrees so I should no better but I feel so lost. Ivd been on antidepressants for 6 weeks...felt initially a bit better after a couple of weeks but the last few weeks have been so tough. Can anyone give me any positive stories about getting through this and how you get there as right now it feels impossibly bleak. I cant see how to get through. I'm currently having my first pp period (tmi) so not sure if that isn't helping but thought I'd be feeling better by now or at least some way there.

I think you are right about the period making things worse, the first one is just shot isn't it.

Does your HV know how you feel and does she know of any groups out there for Mums with PNI? There is a weekly one in the next town to us which is invaluable.

The APNI are a really good organisation too OP.

Hope you find the help you deserve Thanks

Thanks for replying JiltedJohnsJulie. I've got my 6 week check with gp today so will chat to them. There is a mother and baby group I could go to but not specifically for pnd...I dont think theres anything local like that unfortunately. I was trying to tell myself it might be period related to give myself some hope of improvement but not sure if that's just wishful thinking. X

I think your period will have a lot to do with it. Do tell your GO how you feel and hopefully you can get some support Thanks
