I am 4 weeks pp, had an assisted forceps delivery and mediolateral episiotomy, I am still in a lot of pain, swollen and numb towards my bum cheek, I'm still struggling to sit down ☹️
just wondering if anyone has any experience of how long it can take to heal?

I too had an assisted forceps delivery and episiotomy 12 weeks ago. I am still recovering but the worst of the pain improved for me roughly at 9 weeks and I am only just starting to feel normal again. I worried so much that it wasn't healing but as each day passed it slowly got better. You are still in the super early stage so try not to worry but you could mention it to the midwife/ health visitor if you're concerned. I asked the doctor at the 6 week checkup to have a look to reassure me so don't be afraid to ask for help if needed. Hope this helps xx

I am 3 weeks pp and while sitting still hurts (as do pelvic floor exercises) the pain has improved dramatically.
