Has anyone got any advice for healing after forceps & episiotomy delivery?
It’s week 6 PP and I had my doctors check yesterday and she was concerned it was still an open wound (some stitches came undone 1st/ 2nd week and there’s gaping). She sent me to the hospital where they told me it’s not infected but I’m not healing quickly (they don’t know why) and it’s going to take 4 months to heal. At this point I can be restitched if I feel loose... it sounds like a long time to have to suffer on. I can’t drive or carry the car seat as it hurts too much. I’m literally house bound at the moment 😭
Has anyone else gone through something similar? X

Oh my God, you poor thing. I would have it restitched.

I had both and no problems recovering (was almost 12 years ago). By 6 weeks PP I don't even remember being overly tender so this is not normal. I used to trickle a jug of warm salty water as I was peeing to ease the sting.

I took Arnica 200 after both my first and second baby (c'section) which I think definitely helped. I am not renowned for my speedy healing and I did very well after both babies.

I'd get it restitched and then work hard on your pelvic floor. I would say its only very recently I have gained better control over my bladder. I've said goodbye to tampons as I would be better off with packing! I would defo want everything stitched up properly and nice and tight.

Good luck.
