Combined feeding after Sepsis

I had sepsis after giving birth and I also had acute kidney injury during labour. I've been really struggling with breat feeding and trying to recover (two weeks later I've also got a cold which has knocked me for 6).

My husband has been giving our son the odd bottle at night or in the morning to try and help me recover but I'm really worried about my supply. He's having masses at night (150ml) and I'm worried about whether my milk is insufficient after being Ill and also the long term effects in my supply.

Has anyone else got experience with mixed feeding?

My little boy is nearly 4 weeks now. Unfortunately after the birth they missed some of the placenta so I had a massive hemorrhage. It took me time to recover and affected my supply which stopped him learning to latch. It was very stressful and both he and I got upset (I felt like I was failing) I really wanted him to have breastmilk though as its so good for him, so I've been pumping in the day and for one of the feeds at night we give him formula, which normally my husband does. My supply is now good took a while to get there but mix feeding works for us and he has gained good weight. Its also nice for my husband as he gets involved with the feeds too. So in my experience mix feeding works but obviously he has both breastmilk and formula from the bottle

Sorry bit old now but I had sepsis 2 days postnatally too and wasn't allowed to BF for 3 weeks due to the meds I was on. I pumped and dumped around 4 x day them tried BFing 10 days after the last antibiotic. It took him a while to relearn to latch on, and we topped him up with formula after each feed till my supply caught up. I BFed him till he was 6 months but he was such a big baby I'd often give him formula last thing at night. My reasoning was that he's getting plenty of the good stuff and your supply is always lowest at night. Don't feel guilty. If it's best for you, that's probably going to be the best option all round.
