What are the most common anti depressants the doctor might offer me for PND please? And anyone have any opinions on ones which really worked for them?

Citalopram or sertraline. Both have really helped me

Thanks, were you on both at once or one at a time?

Sertraline was life changing for me. I was on it for 6 months. 2 years on I've never looked back.

The internet is full of horror stories about specific meds. People who have recovered are less likely to post I guess. So my advice is to not google too much and see what the gp says

Sertraline is the usual go to for GP's. If you're under 30 you'll need to go for regular checkups for a few weeks to check how they're settling. Just more common to cause mood swings for under 30's but they're generally very good.

Thank you both. I have my appointment on Friday and am torn, I feel a bit better at the moment but am unsure if it's permanent and can't put my children through it any more. I've been a bit useless really.
