If you had a planned c section (for any reason I guess, maybe for my question it's irrelevant why?) how many weeks / days prior to your due date were you booked in?

Thanks

I was booked in at consultant appt 36w and gave birth at 39w.

orangejuicer · 04/10/2019 19:18

Oh and I was booked in for a big baby. I assume they didn't want him getting any bigger. He came out at 10lb 3 Grin

I got my date at 32 weeks for 39+1. My consultant was planning on delivering dc2 herself which might be why it was on the early side.

BabloHoney · 04/10/2019 19:22

Got my date at my 36 week consultant appointment, for 39 weeks.

Thanks so much. I had a 5 day labour with the baby not engaging at any stage. I started off labour naturally at 41+3 then I was induced two days later. But at no stage did baby engage at all and drop down so pushing was futile. Baby was a small size so makes me wonder if mynpelvis is shaped to not allow baby out! Either way I'm asking for a c section next birth!!

Booked in at 37+0 for 39+1 when it became clear that DD there was no way DD would survive a natural birth.

Chillisauceboss · 04/10/2019 19:25

@bathorshower I hope DD is ok xx

Booked in at 37+5 for delivery at 38+4 (breech baby that wasn't budging). Check the NICE and RCOG guidelines, I think the recommendation is 39 weeks. I think I was booked in early because DS was footling breech and for scheduling reasons.

Lauren83 · 04/10/2019 19:31

I was booked 39.1 (would of been 39 but that was a Sunday) ELCS was due to a semi emergency section 17 months previously for a failed induction due to big baby

mynameiscalypso · 04/10/2019 19:36

I had an appointment with the consultant at 20 weeks. I was booked in for 39+1 (mainly because she only delivered babies one day a week).

Chillisauceboss · 04/10/2019 19:42

Thanks so much for all your responses. Really made me feel more comfortable

DD is absolutely fine, thank you - she was transverse (sideways) and there was a high chance the cord would get compressed during a contraction in labour. But she was otherwise normal and healthy.

Lauren83 · 04/10/2019 21:49

Sorry to add I was told to expect the date to be 39+ when I attended around 30 weeks but wasn't given the actual date until around 35 weeks
