Started period 4 weeks after giving birth. Normal?

I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl on 1.8.19 and the bleeding following my labour stoped approximately 4 days ago.

I have woken up this morning and appear to have started my period, is it normal to start this early after giving birth? (4weeks)

I am exclusively breastfeeding and feeding on demand (no more than 2.5 hours between feeds day and night)

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you

I would say that's normal. You must've ovulated pretty much straight after you gave birth :) that's why they say always go straight on contraception after having a baby because you can still get pregnant straight away.

Lots of women do this- especially if you are normally like clockwork. Breast feeding can suppress fertility but it isn't a guarantee especially in countries where we are well feed

When you are feeling ready to have sex again just make sure that you have contraception sorted.

Thanks both, that's made me feel a lot better!
