Uncontrollable shaking

Hi, baby was born last Friday. Woke up to breastfeed around 1am and as soon as I got out of bed I started shaking/shivering uncontrollably - like I was freezing cold. Lasted a few mins during which my husband helped me put on loads of layers and then I felt fine. Then stripped back to normal levels. Around 3.30 am at the next feed as soon as I pulled back blankets I felt like it was middle of winter again but no shaking, felt fine a few mins later but when i got back in to bed i felt so cold again had to hug husband to get warm.

Any ideas? Feel well other than this. Bleeding is normal etc

How is your temperature? You need to ring the 24 hour number on your hospital notes for advice.

I didn't check temperature but my husband said i didn't feel hot etc

I had this, I had it a week or so after having baby a few weeks ago! All of a sudden I started shaking/shivering uncontrollably for a few minutes. I had to put a jumper on. I felt normal again afterwards. It only happened the once. I had a c section and was worried I had an infection but I didn't.

I had this a few times during the first week after my son was born. Really scared me but it ended up just stopping. I think your body is just regulating itself!

I've had this a couple of times in the week since my baby girl was born. I've also had night sweats a couple of times where I'm literally drenched, I do have an infection where my episiotomy stitches have opened so assumed it was due to that but maybe not if others are experiencing similar without infections!
