Red spotting 7 weeks postpartum

Has this happened to anyone else? Lochia had tailed off then back in last week to red spotting. Not heavy but need a panty liner.

Had 6 week check with doc who seemend concerned and said if still bleeding next week they will send me for a scan. I am scared of having the procedure if anything was left behind? My notes said 'ragged membranes' after birth and I lost a lot of blood after delivery. Passed a few big clots in the first 2 weeks after birth but none since. No pain/temp etc... do some people just bleed for longer?!

My bleeding had all but stopped and I had some spotting about that stage. I figured that I was just doing too much and took it easy for a bit. I was a ELCS though so no chance of anything being left behind.

I think this is well inside the bounds of normal, especially if you have no pain/temp/weird smells. My lochia lasted 10 weeks with both babies, nothing untoward, just that’s how long it took. Towards the end it was definitely more on/off, and brighter red if I did a lot more, eg went on a long walk.

Thank you that is reassuring. Friends have said theirs stopped way before so I guess there is a wide range of 'normal'. Really hoping it stops and nothing is left!

Could even be return of AF, even fully breastfeeding. Mine came back around them - was v peeved as had about 2 weeks without pads!

Thanks you for replies. @namechanged2000 what did your doc say? Did you have a scan?

@randomsabreuse i don't think it is as it is so light? My first period after DC1 was heavy and painful?

I led for 6 week pp and had a scan and I did have some retained placenta but the procedure was absolutely fine. Being away from my 7 week old wasn’t fun but it was a day procedure and I had no pain afterwards at all. I had stitches down there from birth so was terrified of the thought of something else happening down there but when I woke up I couldn’t tell anything had been done, no pain at all.
