When did you get your period back?

I'm 4.5 months pp, breast feeding and I really feel like I'm going to get a period: ovary pain, bloated water-retention heavy stomach, headaches. I thought it'd take longer to come back (and am slightly worried it reflects me failing at bfing as I'm mixed feeding) - just interested in other experiences. Tia

I stopped breast feeding at around 4 - 5 months and period arrived a few later.

5 months after birth both times. BF both until after their 1st birthday’s.

28 days post birth. Every 28 days there on.

It may be the mix feeding as the demand on you supply will be lower. That does not mean you are failing at breastfeeding though!

You lucky things. I breastfeed and my period made its ugly appearance 6 weeks after birth. Envy Normal and regular ever since (DS now 13 months).

7 weeks... and I breastfed exclusively 🙄 so annoying

MoonChimes · 24/06/2019 11:59

Oh wow I wasn't expecting such mixed responses, I just assumed it would be much later if breastfeeding. This is really helpful, thanks. And @bluebluezoo Thanks - that's made me feel better
