Irregular bleeding after lochia stopped?

Hi all.

I'm almost 7 weeks PP. My lochia stopped at 3-4 weeks then I began bleeding again at almost 6 weeks.

It seemed too light to be my period initially and is irregular. I bled for about 4 days, stopped for almost 2 and have now started again (red fresh blood)

I'm pretty sure I ovulated before the bleeding started ( i had EWCM ) and I have had some period like cramps, have them now actually.

Could this be my period, even though it's somewhat 'dodgy' and not in line with what my periods are usually like. For example they're never usually stop/start and I just bleed constantly for 4-5 days and then that's it.

I had my 6 week PP check a few days ago and the bleeding had stopped at that point, doctor said if if started again then let her know and they'd order a scan. It now has.

It's very hard to get hold of one particular GP at my surgery and it depends who's working on the day, you also have to go through reception explain your problem and wait for a call back from whatever duty GP is there that day so it's a bit of a ball ache process to get a message across.

I don't want to be a bother if this is something others have experienced and it be normal.

Any idea?

I came on here to ask a similar question, my lochia stopped at about 5 1/2 weeks and then I started what i believed to be a period at exactly 8 weeks pp, my usual period is about 3 days of extremely light spotting followed by very heavy bleeding and all I had was 4 days of really really light spotting which has disappeared 3 days ago. I'm not sure whether to think this is a period or not either.
I'm exclusively breastfeeding so was hoping to excape periods for a while but I also breastfed my son 10 years ago and had periods return at 8 weeks pp. I remember them being all over the place but were never really light. I'm just going to wait and see if my normal period starts soon, I'm not exactly sure how normal it is to bleed on/off if it isn't like a normal period.
