Anyone suffered from PTSD from childbirth that can share their experience?
I'm having flashbacks, night sweats, insomnia (inbetween night feeds), low mood, not eating a lot, loss of interest in normal daily outings, general feeling of anxiety in all that I do. I've taken steps to help and started sessions last week because I don't want medication intervention. Thanks in advance.

Have you had a formal diagnosis?

Not all MH consequences of followngn traumatic events are PTSD.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'medical intervention' but I would urge you to at least make sure you are properly diagnosed.

Yes, all of the above but don't think sharing experiences is going to help as the root cause is different for everyone, as is the recovery. Xx

I don't want to go on tablets from GP. Trauma birth therapy has been offered however, no appointments until end of July and they will not see you until you are post 12 weeks birth. I've gone privately now because all of the above are getting worse not better. I've recognised there's an issue before it gets worse and recognise I'm going down a path I don't want to. Birth could very well be a trigger of other life events that have occurred past few years in such a short space of time so I'm going to work with my support to get to the route. The birth is the main issue in my head at the moment, I'm unable to do the things I did leading up to the experience as I go into anxiety mood and all the little daily frustrations are so heightened and really bother me so it's having an affect on the family as I have no patience at all. Never thought I would ever seek help but hey ho that's how it is and can only help x
