Labia Tears healing? What to expect?

I had a baby 4 weeks ago, my labia minora split on one side and what was 1 "flappy bit" is now 2.. My midwife said that it would heal on its own and I didnt have it stitched but my question is, will it heal back up to the way it was before? The split is the whole way down the labia. Will it seal back up to one again? Or will it remain split? Did anyone else split like this?

My labia split on one side too, I needed 4 stitches...If you don't feel happy go to the GP, they may refer you to get it stitched if it's not healing how it was expected too
