Microgynon and breastfeeding

Hi all, sorry feel like I’m always posting away! I am breast feeding my son is 15 weeks, I was on desogesterol for 2 months but went back to the doctors coz I bled 4 times in that 8 weeks sorry tmi! She then said ok go on Microgygnon knowing I was breastfeeding?! But said it was ok after bringing up bloody google!! I’ve been reading now it can reduce and stop milk altogether now I’m panicking! I’m not ready to stop breastfeeding! I express my milk and bottle feed my son so is easy to see reduction! My mum/OH just said knock it on the head he’s nearly 4 months but I just don’t want too! I’ve only taken 1 Microgygnon just getting worried now and can’t get to the doctors til Tuesday, any advice is appreciated do I go back to Desogestrel after 1 microgynon pill or stay on microgynon?! Really don’t want my milk to go!!

I am bf. I was always under impression that only mini pill was ok to be honest. I would not feel pressured to stop bf until you are ready op, your baby will have so much more benefit yet at 4 months old! Go back to the gp and discuss.

Yeah I will do on Tuesday! Feel like my milk has reduced already, think il just stop pills altogether until I see a doctor. To add to the issue I forgot about the pill crossover and to use extra precautions but didn’t this morning and apparently can’t take morning after pill! What a bloody situation to be in :/ Thankyou for your reply tho :D x

I'm sure you're right, it's not suitable...I'd ask about Mirena coil if I were you, you can bf with that and it's much more reliable than minipill (I conceived my dd taking minipill!)
