3rd degree tear and stitches

Hi all,
I had my baby 8 weeks ago now and generally doing well recovery wise. I had a 3rd degree tear that was stitched up. Generally feels ok down there and so husband and I have tried sex a few times... alright for me but he is getting scratched up by something sharp he can feel! I assume its the stitches?! Wondering if anyone else experienced this or generally how long a 3rd degree tear takes for stitches to dissolve?

I had a 4th degree and was told some of the stitches used would take up to 5months to dissolve completely, some 4 weeks and some a week. Not sure if that is helpful but i guess getting your GP to check wouldn’t do any harm?
