Hi all...so just wondered if anyone else has had this issue or not and a little advice would be great. Please note I am under the consultant so I am getting medical advice and treatment but I am just feeling so down about the whole thing....please bare with me it is a long story!
I gave birth just over 4 weeks ago, it was an horrendous birth- forceps delivery with 2nd degree tears and episiotomy. I lost a lot of blood and was on the verge of a blood transfusion. I also had suspected sepsis and had to have an emergency GA following the birth for a stitch up as they stitched into my bowel muscle 😞 I was on antibiotics and thought I was recovering well until 10 days later the episiotomy wound broke down. Since then I have had a further 2 lots of antibiotics and have just had the wound debride and packed with sorbosan (think that's what is called) this was yesterday, however this morning the sorbosan fell out and now left with a massive gaping hole that is bleeding (but is manageable with pads) I called the hospital when it fell out and they just advised to keep it clean, air it if possible and to go back tomorrow for my appointment as normal,
Has anyone else had this problem? If so what happened and how long did it take to recover? I am really starting to get down about this as I am in constant pain, it's uncomfortable to sit or stand, i can't fully enjoy my new baby, I have horses and they are just being left for my mum to sort out which is fine but mentally they are my go to! My husband is also stressing as he is having to do everything as well as run his own business and I just really don't see a light at the end of the tunnel! Any advice or just reassurance will be appreciated
