I think minimum 6 weeks as your uterus hasn't shrunk back to usual size until then.

There's no formal rule. When you feel ready is the usual advice, but the vast majority of people are going to want to wait a few weeks at least. I'd probably loosely advise a minimum of 3, but that's just my amateur sense of it. You don't have to wait until the 6 week check but a lot of people do.

You should take it gently and stop if there is any pain.

Whenever you feel healed enough. I think we waited about 2 weeks. Much longer for my vaginal delivery.

We tried at six weeks but I found it really painful. After about 12 weeks it stopped hurting.
