Infected c section scar

Hi all
I had an emergency c section 2 weeks ago. I thought I’d been doing really well, off of the painkillers and up and about, been going for short walks to the local shop and back, but noticed I had a bit of discharge coming from my scar on Thursday, and went to the doctors on Friday.
I was told I had an infection just on a small section in the middle of my wound, so a drsssing was put on and given a weeks worth of antibiotics.
Went back today and it’s opened up even more and apparently I now have a cavity there with a bad infection, which smells and a lot of oozing.
Has anyone else had this? Can anyone ease my mind a little bit as feeling a bit panicked at the mention of a cavity! How long did it take to heal back up?
I’ve got to go back Wednesday to see a specialist nurse.

Thanks for the reply @Kab30, it smelt so bad when she took the dressing off it was so embarrassing!
It just feels like such a knock when you think you’ve been doing so well, but maybe I’ve been doing too much x
