Cerazette & breastfeeding

Hello, just wondering if anybody had experienced anything similar or if alarm bells should be ringing really..

I EBF my 12 week old and after my 8 week postpartum check I started to take cerazette as prescribed by my GP (there is a 4 month waiting list in my area for the coil annoyingly!) as I don’t want a baby again so soon to rely on breastfeeding stopping my ovulation but was assured it was perfectly safe to take with BF. My supply hasn’t been impacted by the pill but for the past couple of days I have been getting really strong abdominal and period type cramps. Strong enough that ibuprofen and hot water bottles don’t touch it.

Is this a common thing? I’ve never taken cerazette before but from the leaflet in the box, I know that you don’t have a break with the pills or bleed so having these intense period type pains is quite unwelcome!

(Have an unrelated GP appointment next week so will bring it up then if still happening but basically wanted to know if I needed to worry about it before then)

Thank you ☺️

It's a listed side effect but sensible to get checked out by the GP. Unless you have reasons NOT to be on the combined pill then I'd ask for something like loestrin. Cerazette was a bitch to come off and I bled for weeks and weeks on and off whilst ttc. Made it impossible so if you want more children I'd be wary of this. The combined pill used to be a no if bf but now is deemed safe. I had it when bf with no issues.
