Stitches - going back to ‘normal’

So I got a tear in one of my labia when giving birth. I’m now 3 weeks down the line, pain is gone, stitches have dissolved and everything seems to be healing nicely except... it’s not gone back in one piece! I now seem to have two overlapping half flaps on one side...
should I expect it to go back to normal or is it something that I need to just accept as one of the joys of child birth?

It depends on the swelling me thinks hon. I would wait a few months and ignore it best you can. If it's scar tissue though it may grow tight and painful or it could just go away. There's no way of knowing sadly. If it stays that way then it will be your scar from childbirth.
