Help with PMDD?

Do any mumsnetters suffer from PMDD? Not just pms... But epic levels of depression/anxiety/ utter misery in the lead up to time of the month? If so, what has helped? Since birth of DS my time of the month has become a black chasm of hellishness - I'm not talking craving for choccies and being a bit nowty, it's really horrendous but goes away again after period starts. I am hoping someone else understands this? Any words of wisdom? I need to get my GP to take this seriously and help me find a solution... Any and all comments welcome (of the kind variety, please, I'm just a new mummy trying her best) TIA

You have my total sympathy. I had PMS so bad that I got agrophobia and missed time from work.

Two things that really helped me were calcium supplements, which I took on the recommendation of the Prof and the Mirena Coil.

Has your GP referred you to the PMS clinic at your local hospital?
