Itching after c section

Has anyone else had a really itchy face after a c section? I had a section this morning and my nose, chin and eyes have been really itchy since. The midwife said it's fairly common and I've had some medication which has helped a bit but I'd never heard of it before, just wondered if anyone else has experienced the same?

Side effect of the diamorphine within a spinal usually. Takes a few hours to dissipate but keep asking for Piriton as and when you need it. Congratulations too 🙂

Opiate sensitivity. Try other painkillers from now.

Definitely a reaction to diamorphine. I wanted to claw off my face and it got worse quite quickly (within minutes of surgery). Turns out I'm quite allergic to opiates.

It will wear off. Congratulations.
