Prolonged bleeding and pain

I am 8 weeks postpartum and bleeding quite heavily (not haemorrhaging, but have had to bring the maxi-pads back out for the past week) and experiencing fairly severe abdominal pain.

Since giving birth, the bleeding has died down at times, and even stopped altogether, but only for 2-3 days at a time before it comes back with a vengeance.
For the the past week it has been consistently bright red, and in the last 48 hours it has been increasing in volume.

I suffer from endometriosis so am quite used to this sort of pain and bleeding, and have a tendency to be a bit dismissive of it. Also, after I had my first baby I bled for 10 weeks and then my periods came back at 12 weeks postpartum, so part of me thinks this is probably just what my body does. However I am starting to feel quite weak, and very fed up, and wondering if I ought to do something about it now.

Should I seek medical help? The GP was quite blasé about it at my 6 week postnatal check-up, but that was 2 weeks ago now and things aren't improving. I have had so many experiences of being fobbed off by them in the past when I have tried to get help for my endometriosis (some doctors have been so nasty to me I've been reduced to tears), I now have a bit of a fear of seeing the GP for women's health related issues.
