Extended breastfeeding- mood swings!! Help!

Hi Smile I wonder if any mums have experienced this, and have any help?

I'm breastfeeding my daughter (17 mo) who is FREQUENT feeder, and when I skip a feed or don't nurse her for a couple of hours, I've noticed a cycle of my mood dipping: I feel depressed and anxious, and have had panic attacks Sad As soon as I feed her, I feel calm and totally back to normal, almost like I was drunk and have sobered up? Confused

I'm really worried about my body's reaction to this? I've read that mums can feel a depression dip for a couple of weeks or so when they've weaned, but I feel an immediate change in mood within a couple of hours of not feeding.

She is a tall girl, and has had a few growth spurts, where she sometimes feeds every hour in the night.

Has anyone else felt this, and how have you dealt with it? Have you taken medication along with breastfeeding or after quitting bf?

I have never taken medication for moods before so I feel nervous.

Thanks for all of your help in advance! Smile
