Clots

I'm now 10 days post birth and just passed a sizeable clot ( around golf ball sized). No immediate pain but I've been a bit grumbly for the last two days and felt chills on an evening ( but put this down to breastfeeding and let's face it, summer has disappeared).

My dilemma is I need to call someone but DH has a job interview about 2 hours away he cannot cancel and I have dd and DS4 to look after and no help. Do you think I'll b ok until he gets back around 4/5pm?

Might be worth calling NHS24 and seeing what they think? My midwives told me a clot the size of a large coin is fine, the size of a fist is not. Golf ball is getting up there... probably worth seeking medical advice on that one rather than Internet advice! Worst case you could possibly bring your DCs to A&E with you and your DP could bring them home after the interview...? A job is important but so is your health!

Thank you for your reply, I'm going to call my midwife in the morning, I currently feel fine so that's why I'm thinking I can manage until after he come home. The job also comes with a house and is DHs dream job, I cannot believe this is happened now. If I was in pain he wouldn't be going.

I had this around 3/4 days after giving birth! It gave me the shock of my life and it was also around the size of a golf ball maybe a little bigger. I had the midwife the same day and I kept the clot for her to look at (as recommended by the hospital) midwife said it was fine the clot was all blood and she would only be worried if there were lines in it. Hope the midwife gives you some reassurance. Apparently it's normal to pass a few clots after giving birth.?

My bleeding has pretty much slowed entirely sand become more of a pinkish colour x it was around the same size and yeah they're well scary!!!

Called the midwife and she wasn't overly concerned just asked about temp and pain, which I'm not having and how/if it had increased bleeding. She said to call her back if it happens again.

Thank you x
